# Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association

> The Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association (SLGGA) is a non-profit youth organisation dedicated to empowering girls and young women through guiding, leadership development, community service and life skills training across Sri Lanka. Founded in 1917, the Association is a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

## Branches

The Association operates several branches catering to different age groups:

- Lil Pals: The youngest members of the Girl Guides family
- Bluebirds: Early age group introducing guiding fundamentals
- Brownies: Building on guiding basics with badges and activities
- Guides: Core guiding programme for girls
- Rangers: Senior guiding programme for young women
- Cadets: Advanced guiding for older participants
- Guiders: Adult volunteers who lead and mentor
