The Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 10th October 2026, at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Independence Square, Colombo 07.

The Annual General Meeting provided an important opportunity for members of the Association to come together, reflect on the achievements and progress of the past year, and discuss the continued development of Girl Guiding in Sri Lanka.

The meeting included the customary proceedings of an Annual General Meeting, with a review of the Association's activities, presentation of relevant reports, and discussions on organisational matters and future priorities.

A significant highlight of the meeting was the appointment of the new office bearers of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association for the term 2026–2029. The newly appointed office bearers will play an important role in guiding the Association's activities, strengthening its programmes, and advancing its mission of empowering girls and young women through leadership, service, and personal development.

The Association extends its sincere appreciation to the outgoing office bearers for their dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions during their term of service. It also warmly congratulates the newly appointed office bearers and wishes them every success as they undertake their responsibilities for the coming years.

The successful conclusion of the Annual General Meeting marks another important chapter in the Association's journey, reaffirming its commitment to the principles and values of Girl Guiding and to creating meaningful opportunities for girls and young women across Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association proudly celebrated a remarkable occasion of achievement, leadership and service at the President’s Guide Award and Prime Minister’s Award Ceremony 2025, held on 19th July 2026 at the historic Temple Trees.

The ceremony brought together distinguished guests, leaders of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association, Girl Guides, Rangers, families and supporters to recognize the exceptional achievements of young members who had successfully completed the requirements for the prestigious President’s Guide Award and Prime Minister’s Award.

The occasion was graced by the presence of the Hon. Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who attended as the Chief Guest and presented the prestigious awards to the deserving recipients. Her presence made the ceremony especially significant and provided an inspiring moment for the young achievers as they were recognized for their dedication, commitment and service.

The President’s Guide Award and Prime Minister’s Award are important milestones within the Guiding journey, encouraging young people to develop leadership skills, take responsibility, serve their communities and challenge themselves to reach their full potential. The recipients demonstrated perseverance and dedication throughout their journey, reflecting the values and principles at the heart of the Guide Movement.

The award ceremony was a celebration not only of individual achievement but also of the support provided by families, schools, communities and everyone who guided and encouraged the recipients along the way. Each award represents countless hours of learning, service, personal development and commitment.
