Flood Donation Programme

December 03, 2025

Sri Lanka was a victim of the Ditwah cyclone, which brought devastating news to the country. Many of the affected citizens lost their homes, valuable property and even their loved ones. Despite the situation, the Girl Guides were prepared to lend a hand!

The Girl Guides opened a donation collection center at the headquarters, where many Guides exploited this moment to render their service to their motherland. During the day, we received many donations, ranging from dry rations to baby products, and female sanitary products. Everyday, after the collection of the items, the Girl Guides and their leaders would take a trip to the affected areas and military points to handover the donated items.

Our volunteer service did not stop from our community. Many Guides volunteered at the Rupavahini Corporation to help their staff to organise and package the donated items. This proves that Girl Guides are always prepared to keep their promise, even during these vulnerable situations!
