The JOTA/JOTI Weekend has come to a close

The world's largest digital and radio events, Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI), which promote friendship and global citizenship, came to a triumphant finish on October 19. The SLGGA operated four stations around the island. The stations were located at SLGGA National Headquarters at Colombo 7, St. Joseph’s Balika Vidyalaya, Kegalle, Ferguson High School, Ratnapura, and Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya Matara.
The Ratnapura district station saw the participation of three hundred Girl Guides from Ratnapura and Monaragala Districts. Over two hundred Guides and Rangers from the Kegalle district took part at the station in Kegalle. Further, one hundred and thirty-five Guides and Rangers of the Western Province gathered at the radio station operated at the SLGGA National Headquarters, Colombo 7. One hundred and ninety-four Guides of Matara district joined the radio station operated at Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya Matara. The Girl Guides of 6th Polonnaruwa Pl/ Sewamuktha Kandawura Maha Vidyalaya joined the Scouts of the Anuradhapura radio station operated at Niwanthaka Chethiya Maha Vidyalaya.
The Girl Guides had a great time at eleven activity functions and learned about radio communication during the program.
